We are searching for an action-oriented VP of Finance to join our rapidly growing team based in our Chicago office. This position will be responsible for further developing the company’s finance management strategy and contributing to the development of the organization’s operating goals as a strategic partner to our CEO. The VP will collaborate with key stakeholders across the company to develop consistent policies, procedures, controls and systems as the company scales.

What you'll Do

  • Maintain adequate internal control procedures to ensure the integrity of the financial results and reporting. Manage general ledger with accountants and deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports including P&L, balance sheet, cap tables, and cash flow

  • Maintain monthly financial reporting package – including expense burn, expense category spend in relation to benchmarks, sales pipeline forecasting, key metric reporting (LTV/ CAC, Marketing Cost of Acquisition, Gross Margin, Software Margin, Services Margin, etc.)

  • Oversee company valuations and cash flow modeling Assist in the structuring of SaaS agreements Lead preparation of materials and documents for board meetings and investor reports

  • Implement and maintain accounting, sales incentive, and administrative policies and procedures Maintain ongoing financial modeling and analysis expertise

  • Cap table management Develop and monitor department level KPIs, budgets, and internal reporting metrics

  • Manage annual budgeting process and monitor performance against financial budgets and forecasts and ensure management is advised on exposure issues

  • Prepare and distribute investor reports

  • Ensure that departmental decisions and project plans such as those for staffing, development, organization, material efficiency, hardware acquisitions, and facilities are in line with the organization’s operational goals and needs
  • Work with CEO to manage cap table including Employee Equity Incentive plans

  • Manage annual financial audit process including 401k benefits audit and equity incentive audit

  • Manage resources, along with developing, maintaining, and improving operational plans including human capital resource and equipment planning Responsible for vendor negotiations, relationships and purchasing

Required Qualifications

  • 15+ years of experience in a senior management role, ideally within a high growth environment CPA strongly preferred

  • Finance or Accounting Degree, MBA preferred

  • Experience implementing financial controls

  • Experience with investor reporting

  • Proven track record of success facilitating progressive organizational change within a startup environment

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
